  Melvin SEYMOUR 05JUN1925.Strool,SD-14JUN2004.Spearfish,Lawrence.Co,SD Member Our Savior Lutheran, Spearfish, SD …As a young man he played baseball, his favorite sport, for the Sorum and Strool S.D. teams as catcher and short stop He married in 1949.Belle.Fourche.Co,SD Rosemary TOPE …Melvin sheared sheep, worked at the Homestake gold mine in Lead and for Cray's Horse Ranch. In 1951, He and Rosmary purchased the family homestead, where the ranched and raised their family. They moved to Spearfish in 1976 to continue ranching on a smaller scale. Melvin thoroughly enjoyed hunting, cooking, history, puzzles, checking on his livestock, going for coffee and public speaking. He also enjoyed talking to anyone and everyone, leaving no one a stranger. Melvin was well known for his deep resounding voice that commanded attention. He used this talent at many Masonic funerals, lodge rituals, church and other public speaking events. Melvin was a member of the All Angels Episcopal Church, serving on the vestry and as a reader. He was a member of Masonic Pasque Lodge 214 in Bison since 1954, and was a worshipful master, district master and grand puruvant, senior grand steward. He received his 50-year pin in June 2004.
