  Matthew was the son of Benjamin and Hannah Norton. He married Mary Daggett about 1722. He was a farmer, and a deacon of the church in Edgartown, MA, for many years. Note: The identification of his mother Hannah as the daughter of Nathaniel and Grace Boulter (as is reported in her memorial) is questionable. Thanks for Jan Ragno for the gravestone image.
