Anne Louise Dutton Wharton, of College Station, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, the 24th of March, 2012, with her family at her bedside. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, at Central Baptist Church, College Station.
Anne was born in Pittsfield, Mass. on October 18, 1948 and was raised in Rome, Ga. She and her family have resided in College Station for the past 32 years, where she has been a loving wife and mother and has been active in the community and her church.
Anne was preceded in death by her father, John C. Dutton.
She is survived by many who love her dearly. Survivors include her husband, Dr. Robert Wharton, Professor of Entomology at Texas A&M University; her mother, Elizabeth Dutton, of Rome, Ga; her siblings, John Dutton Jr. and Sally Anderson; her three daughters, Janine Pipit Godefroy and her husband Scott, Tara Megill and her husband Matthew, and Gabriella Vasquez and her husband Fernando; as well as five grandchildren, Anamaria, Irene, Madeleine, Emmett, and Alethea.
She will be greatly missed by all those who have been recipients of her grace and love.
