  	MURPHYSBORO -Lester "Big Boy" Pyron, 90, passed away at 7:50 a.m. Sunday, May 24, 2015 at his daughter's home. He was born Sept. 22, 1924, to Dan and Bertha (Snyder) Pyron in Ava. He married Evelyn Belton on Aug. 29, 1942. Together they shared 69 years of marriage. She preceded him in death on Nov. 21, 2011. Lester proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a POW in Germany and a served during the European Theatre of Operations. He was retired from the Jackson County Highway Department. He was a member of VFW Post 7190 and American Legion Post 127. He loved to fish. The joy of his life was spending time with his great-grandson, Reece Mileur. He will be deeply missed by Reece. Lester is survived by two daughters, Joyce Mileur of Murphysboro, and Janice Houston of Milwaukie, Oregon; grandchildren, Chad Houston and Tonya Houston of Milwaukie, Oregon and Josh Mileur of Murphysboro; four great-grandchildren; other relatives; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife; a son, Eugene Pyron; four sisters; and five brothers. Jim Grant officiating. Full military rites will be accorded. Entombment will be in Pleasant Grove Memorial Park.Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
