  	John W. Wales, 66, of 8 Faye Circle, Marblehead, a retired Vice President of The First National Bank of Boston, died suddenly Tuesday at Mercy Hospital, Miami, Fla. He and his wife had been vacationing at nearby Key Biscayne. He was born in Newton and was a graduate of Newton High School and Burdett Business College. Wales retired from the Boston bank in Aug., 1971, after a 43 year career during which he specialized in credit and loan activities in the Commercial Banking Division. He had been a Vice President since 1954. He was a member of the Eastern Yacht Club of Marblehead and served for six years as chairman of the club's house committee and for 10 years as a member of its race committee. He leaves his wife, Florence C. (Brigham) Wales; two sons, Jonathan C. and Stephen W., both of Marblehead; two brothers, William A. of Wellesley and Richard T. of Harwich Port; and three grandchildren. A memorial service will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew's Church, Marblehead. Private burial services at Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead, will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Eustis and Cornell Funeral Home of Marblehead is in charge of arrangements. It is requested that contributions be made to Holderness School, Plymouth, N.H.
