  Burial	Edmund Lockwood (Jr), son of Edmund Lockwood and Ales Cowper, was born about 1599, probably in Combs, England. Baptized there 15 Jan 1599. The suffix of "Jr" is not documented, it is simply being used to separate him from his father, Edmund Lockwood, due to the many errors repeated through the years. Protected by the PGM project as the father of PGM immigrants whose own ancestry is frequently incorrect. He married twice. 1. First to "Unknown" about 1625. Then name of his first wife may have been Ruth. He married her in England before 1625. It is unknown if she died in England or America. 2. Married by 1632 to Elizabeth Masters, daughter of John Masters of Cambridge. Elizabeth married, as her 2nd, to Cary Latham of Cambridge. Children with first "unknown" wife: 1. Edmund Lockwood, b. England ca 1625, m. Jan 7, 1655/6 at Stamford to Hannah Scott, daughter of Thomas Scott. Was raised by his uncle Robert after his father died 2. Child or children, unnamed implied by court order to Watertown church to "dispose of the elder children." Child with second wife, Elizabeth (Masters) Lockwood: 1. John Lockwood, b. November, 1632 in Cambridge, died at New London 1683 unmarried. Edmund died before 3 Mar 1635 in Cambridge, probably intestate. 3 March 1634/5, the court ordered his widow to present all paperwork to the court, that it might make a determination as to his estate. His brother Robert administered his estate. In late 1636 to early 1647, the size of property granted was based on number of family members, and Robert had two extra persons in his family. These were the two orphaned children of Edmund's first marriage. One was Edmund's son, Edmund Lockwood, and the other is unidentified. 10-12-24: I have submitted an edit request for his mother's memorial currently named as "1st wife Lockwood" to change name to Ales Cowper.
