1		Walter W Conrad Walter W. Conrad, 84, of Highland, Ill., born Oct. 19, 1926, in Hartford, Ill., died Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Faith Care Center, Highland, Ill. Walter was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wood River, Ill. He was a foreman for Clark Oil and Refining in Hartford, Ill., for 43 years, retiring in 1990. Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Walter H. and Sally, nee Dutton, Conrad; and his sister, Edith Nichols. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Gertrude, nee Rose, Conrad of Highland, Ill., whom he married on Dec. 10, 1949, in Wood River, Ill.; daughter, Julie (Dale) Netemeyer of Highland, Ill.; granddaughter, Brianna Nicole Netemeyer of Highland, Ill.; five nieces, Sharon, Delores, Ruth, Edith and Francie; and a special cousin, Missie Peck. Memorials may be made to St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 4, 2011, and from 8 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at Meridith Funeral Home in Highland, Ill. Funeral: Service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at the funeral home with the Rev. Leonard C. Laetsch, Pastor of Hope Lutheran Church in Highland, Ill., officiating.
