  • Notes
    • Jabez Howland's burial place is unknown. This is a cenotaph. A cenotaph was placed at Burial Hill in Plymouth, Massachusetts and was erected by the Pilgrim John Howland Society memorializing the children of John Howland and Elizabeth (Tilley) Howland.

JABEZ, 8th known child of John & Elizabeth (Tilley) Howland, was born about 1644 (deposed on 19 July 1680 aged 36 years). He married by 1669 Bethiah Thatcher, daughter of Anthony Thatcher (eldest child b. Plymouth 15 November 1669).

Jabez and his wife, Bethiah (Thatcher) Howland, died in Bristol, Massachusetts not in Rhode Island. Bristol was a town of Massachusetts until the Crown transferred it to the Rhode Island Colony in 1747, which is after their dates of death. [3]
